Spring has arrived, along with pollen and stress.

School state exams are around the corner, which means so is the stressful and dreadful days. But perhaps if you follow these simple steps, it won’t be as hectic.

First, get organized. Figure out your test days and how much time you have until the day. Once you find out how much time you have to prep, start figuring out what your weakest and strongest points are in the subject. Figuring out what you need to improve is the key to being successful; There is always room for improvement.

Second, make a schedule. Plan out your upcoming week on a calendar or agenda. Balancing your school and social life can be challenging but it’s worth the passing test score. Make room for studying in between sports or any extracurricular activities you’re involved in. Remember education and dedication is what makes an individual successful.

Third, make sure you unwind and clear your mind. Being under pressure can cause stress. Besides studying and prepping; Perhaps write, read a book or go for a walk. If not controlled, stress may do harm. Now I’m not saying to just watch TV and throw studying out the window, but maybe do something productive in a stress-free environment.

These steps may be helpful to some students out there. These steps are not only applicable to students but adults in a work environment too. Individuals deal with stress differently, but these are just some healthy suggestions. I wish the best of luck to all students taking exams and to anyone in a stressful situation. Just remember, “just keep swimming”- Dory
